Pentrating abdominal trauma continous as a common admission occurrence in our tertiary referral unit.  This research project is part of a master’s degree dissertation and looks into the scoring systems and outcomes of these patients.

Acute appendicitis remains a serious and very common surgical condition.  Patients from our referral base tend to present late, with advanced and complicated appendicitis.  This cohort provides an excellent marker of the quality of service at an institution.  This research project describes the cohort and the key performance indicators in their management.  It forms part of a master’s degree dissertation.
